Chikka Jaathre (ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಜಾತ್ರೆ) at Nanjangud is on Tuesday, 19th November 2013.

There will be procession of 3 small chariots in the "Ratha Beedi" (Chariot Street) of the Nanjangud Town. The devotees of Sri Nanjundeshwara pull the chariots in the chariot streets from Sri Srikanteshwara Temple (Nanjangud Temple).

Rathaarohana is between 8:40am to 9:20am on 19-11-2013 in Dhanur lagna. There will be no sevas/pooja bookings for this day (19-11-2013).

Teppotsava (Utsava on boat) is on Thursday, 21-11-2013 evening 7:00pm.  The Utsava murthi of Sri Nanjundeshwara is kept on the boat in River Kapila and the Teppotsava is performed.

Karthika Somavaara and Karthika Maasa - Auspicious Mondays of Karthika Maasa 2013 - Sri Srikanteshwara Temple, Nanjangud

  The Lunar Month Karthika (Karthika Maasa) begins on 4th November which is Padya (First Day) of Shukla Paksha (Fortnight following New Moon). The Mondays of Karthika maasa is auspicious and special pooja is performed in Sri Srikanteshwara (Nanjundeshwara) Temple in Nanjangud and celebrated as Karthika Somavaara.

  The first Karthika Monday is coinciding with first day of lunar month Karthika, celebrated as Bali Padyami, which is one of the 3 days of Deepavali (Diwali / Danteras) festival.

This year there are 5 Karthika Somavaraas and the dates are as follows :

1. First Karthika Somavaara : 4th November, 2013.
2. Second Karthika Somavaara : 11th November, 2013.
3. Third Karthika Somavaara : 18th November, 2013.
4. Fourth Karthika Somavaara : 25th November, 2013.
5. Fifth Karthika Somavaara : 2nd December, 2013 (Amaavasya, New Moon Day), Panchalinga Darshana at Talakad, Tirumakudalu Narsipura Taluk.

Many devotees visit Shiva Temples on the Mondays of Karthika Month to seek additional blessings.
